Doesn’t it annoy you when people send e-mails in very large type to try and get your attention? I mean, the message is pretty important, and if employees aren’t reading it, then they should be reprimanded. We all shouldn’t have to suffer because a few people refuse to read their e-mails. It doesn’t matter how many e-mails they get; they’re all worth at least a glance.

If you’re one of those people who refuses to enforce the rules and prefers to just send out reminders in increasingly-large text, please stop. It doesn’t work. You might as well be putting the entire text of the message into the subject line.

Annoying, isn’t it? Then stop doing it. If people aren’t reading important e-mails, then they get reprimanded or fired. If they can’t be bothered to participate in the cycle of corporate communication, then they’re in the wrong field.
